Michelle Wall, Lead Consultant / Fly Fishing Instructor

Known in the Chattanooga area as Feather & Fly's "fly fishing guru", Michelle Wall is truly one of the finest fly anglers to be found. She has been fly fishing since she was 6 years old, has been a fly fishing instructor and guide for many years, is a past President of Trout Unlimited, an instructor for Women in the Outdoors of the Wild Turkey Federation, is a member of the Federation of Fly Fishers, member of Safari Club International, the NRA, a committee member for Ducks Unlimited, and is a champion marksman. Michelle and her husband, Jeff, are avid shooters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Michelle has an uncanny way of teaching fly fishing, really relating to her students and getting the message delivered in a way that makes sense. Michelle can be especially proud of her work through Trout Unlimited and the Tennessee Aquarium to protect and replenish our local native trout, the Appalachian Brook Trout.
Chris Zahnd, Senior Advisor / Instructor / Guide

Chris Zahnd is a legendary outdoorsman in the Chattanooga area. His father and mother were both tireless outdoorsmen, and Chris was dragged along with them as a baby on hunting and fishing trips. That early love for the outdoors has never left him. Chris has caught and released more trout than is imaginable. He is a very effective fly tyer and has developed a pattern we affectionately call the "Zahnd Secret Weapon." It's perhaps the best streamer pattern for trout ever developed. Chris also loves fly rods, and owns more than anyone else on the planet. He is a passionate bird and duck hunter and is a staunch Winchester 101 man. Chris is a patient and effective teacher of casting, a really fun and knowledgeable guide, and makes one hellava companion with which to share an adult beverage. He has great stories from 65 years of real outdoors experiences. Chris and his wife Jane have resided on top of Lookout Mountain their entire lives, and raised a wonderful family there. Make sure to meet Chris when you stop by Chattanooga; get him to share an adventure with you.

Austin's passion for fly fishing is way up there, and he has quickly become a superb caster and instructor, both in casting and fly tying. He has created some unique and highly effective flies that he often allows his customers to try out during guided guided trips. Austin brings tremendous stream knowledge and fishing skills to his guide trips and has quickly become a favorite guide in the region. Austin is on a first name basis with Mother Nature! His deer hunting is from a place in the past; ground stalk hunting with a recurve bow. A drift boat trip with Austin will definitely get you into the fish. |
